Need Assitance with Cover Letter

Today I was doing an application for a summer analyst position for one of the bulge brackets. One part had the question "What motivates you to apply to (name of bank) and what skills do you have that would be relevant". I'm paraphrasing a little bit there.
At the end they also ask for a cover letter. How do you write a cover letter that isn't extremely redundant compared to that short essay? Not sure if I should write something completely different or summarize again my skills and interest from the first essay.

Let me know if anyone can provide me some guidance. Thanks!
