Need some advise on follow up email

Hello everyone,

So I reached out to an associate on Linkedin at a MM IB and talked over the phone with him shortly after. He liked my resume, so he got me in touch with a guy from HR, which led me to a zoom interview with an MD. I feel like the interview went very well with the MD, and we had a  good conversation. He left it off saying that he wanted to stay in touch and also wanted me to meet some other associates in person after labor day. I haven't heard from anyone this week, and I emailed the associate (the one who got me the interview) on Wednesday and haven't received a response from him.

Am I overthinking this? Should I just continue to wait for somebody to get in touch with me, or should I follow up with the MD?

Hey I hope you are doing well. Without much insight besides what you wrote here I think it’s possible that they just got busy and had to put you on the back burner and/or forgot for the time being. Not sure the harm with a friendly follow-up to the MD or to whomever you think most appropriate. HR may be the right contact as I think it is generally part of their “bread and butter” job to work with candidates and potential hires while an MD and/or other bankers may need to prioritize client and deal work over recruiting sometimes if things get busy from my understanding

I appreciate it! I can definitely see how this week could have been crazy with the holiday. I will give it a few more days and then shoot over an email to HR. Thanks again!
