New Undergraduate Policy at Notre Dame Mendoza School of Business

One of my best friends is a Domer and has always been talking about how the school is the best in every aspect (if you know someone from Notre Dame, you know what I mean). I'm a Georgetown alumnus so we constantly go back and forth on which school is the better Catholic school. Both of us majored in business. Anyway, Notre Dame is implementing a policy starting in Fall 2015 capping the undergrad class size to 550 a year for the business school. My friend said that it is a terrible policy as students who decide later on to major in business will most likely not be able to. Personally, I think it benefits the school by making it more selective, which in turn makes it more prestigious. Thoughts? Good or bad policy?

There are better ways to increase a school's selectivity then by arbitrarily capping its class size.

I think if they made the change with a corresponding policy that the bottom 10-20% of business school students each year were replaced by the top candidates on the wait list, then this could be an incredibly innovative policy... buuuut, that would never happen.
