Notice Period and Lateraling

I’m a first year analyst at a regional boutique and am intent on lateraling to another firm.

Unfortunately, I have a 60-day notice period in my employment contract that states that I’m not allowed to work for another financial advisory firm during that period.

How should I handle this in the lateral process?

If you can, have a lawyer look at your employment agreement to see if there's wiggle room. If you don't have access to a lawyer or nothing can be done, you could go to HR at your firm and request a confidential discussion. Explain to HR the situation (only after you've received the offer!) and ask their advice.

Shouldn't be an issue as long as you handle yourself in a professional way, looks like you're trying to do that already.

Maximum effort.

What kind of regional bank does this kind of crappy thing? Can't imagine any bank would have that as standard contract vs. redacted for you.

Would just ignore it.
