Novice Question!
Okay, I don't know nearly as much about the financial industry as most who will read this. However, I have a Quant undergrad background and was looking at AIS Fund Administration. Can any of you tell me what they do/ are they an actual hedge fund, etc...
Thanks much guys!
Usually "Fund Administration" refers to all the different back-office and legal/regulatory things that funds need.
AIS's website they say that they provide outsourced back and middle office services for hedge funds-things like investor reporting, trade reconciliation, etc. They don't manage any assets or make investment decisions
For someone looking to break in to HF trading, would this serve as a decent entry point? I attended a state school, but majored in mathematics so I have strong quant background.
Probably not. This is a provider of outsourced back-office functions so you'd have all the negatives of back-office (dull work, not part of the investment process) with none of the benefits (you won't work for/with the front-office employees). Just my 2 cents.
