does McIntire really not have the name prestige? With the amount of butthurt UVA grads I’ve come across, I would imagine it does (not knocking them, great school overall).

Stern is only "better" for finance if your only metric you go by is the sheer # of people that place into IB from the graduating class. However, you also have to consider the percentage of people who are gunning for those spots that actually get in. At Stern, almost everyone goes for IB. Also Stern is known to be a lot more cutthroat than UVA and doesn't provide a traditional college experience the way UVA does.

 

Look I'm sure you have experience with both - I don't. I don't know how many go for IB at both schools, but I do know that Stern's # are way, way higher than McIntire's. From what it seems, both schools do pretty similarly outside of IB (consulting/tech...). So what I'm seeing is Stern sends a lot more to IB and a comparable amount to other careers. Hence my recommendation.
