Old Girls Network
I'm considering starting a site, similar to WSO, specifically geared towards women (especially women of color) who want to enter the financial/business/tech sectors. The site would help connect to internships, networking opps, upcoming job availabilities and advice about education and skills related to entering these fields. Any ladies on this site have suggestions or thoughts on this?
What's an "Old Girl"? Are you trying to draw a parallel to "Good ol' boy"?
I feel like this is more worthy of a group on LinkedIn than an entire separate site...? I am also curious about the "Old Girl" reference.
It's a private school thing (UK/commonwealth countries especially)-alumni are called "old boys" or "old girls"

Old Girl's Network is a play on Old Boy's Network, a typically white group of social elites. I'm curious as to why you would choose this name for a website geared toward women of color.
Its not specifically geared to WOC in general. Would be geared to all women but would make an effort to bring more WOC into discussions/the fold.
Cool idea but I agree with Asatar. It's LinkedIn group rather than a whole website.
Didn't even know there were any old private girls-only schools. Come to think of it that's a pretty damning inditement haha.
The "old girls network" already exists, especially for women of color. It's called affirmative action.
