Dude, do what every other man does regarding fashion advice. Ask your mom.
Haha Doctors have notoriously bad taste
Ask your sister/girlfriend (depending on if you're from Kentucky or not they could be the same person). She'll know. Shoes you posted would look good w/ a grey suit.
I like those in black. My cole haans (not slip ons) are a staple in my shoe rotation.
Go for Allen Edmonds shoes with leather sole. They are really comfortable and you can find some nice deals in Nordstrom Rack.
I have some Cole Haan oxfords with the Nike Air and they are really comfortable. They haven't held up nearly as well as my AE's though - leather dries out faster, the color has faded and they got some minor creases.
Not a fan of those slip-ons at all. Look hella ugly.
I have two pairs of Cole Haan Oxfords though and love them. If you use shoe trees and polish like every other day they stay in great condition. Have them in the burgundy brownish and black. Sadly I need new soles cause the soles got screwed when I got stuck in the rain twice.
....dont
Personally when it comes to shoes I would go Allen Edmund or broke. Get them for christmas/birthday/graduation/whatever. They are universally stylish and when it comes to living in NYC you're going to be doing alot of walking and AE shoes hold up.
You certianly get the quality for the price.
Just got a pair of Aldens and they are awesome (though, slightly more exp than the AE I think).
But to each his own.
100% agree - never ask a woman's advice about buying men's shoes or clothing. Neither your mom or your girlfriend would ask you for advice about buying heels, so you shouldn't ask them about buying loafers.
I wouldn't go for this price point; it's sort of like spending $800 on a watch in that you can get things that are okay, but nothing that you're going to actively like a lot. That said, I sort of like these shoes, so I don't think they're bad if you want loafers in the Cole Haan price range. I've also heard good things about the Nike Air thing from people who care about that stuff.
CHs are garbage at their typical price point. If you're going to spend over $100 bucks, you might as well spend a bit more for AEs.
1 rule with dress shoes, if it isn't goodyear welted then it's overpriced crap.Agree with some of the most recent replies. One, never ask women for their opinion on these matters. You should take some ownership and learn about menswear on your own; well-dressed men do better in life, it's undeniable. Two, don't buy cheap shit. You can find inexpensive things, but don't buy cheap goods. Cole Haan has some acceptable footwear, but I've only found their products satisfactory to be worn casually. Allen Edmonds are really the staple footwear of the industry (for any gentleman, actually). They are economical (~$300 when not on sale), durable, and tastefully stylish all at once. If you can reach on the budget, look at Aldens, Church's, John Lobb, Crockett & Jones, and Edward Green. Save your money and you will get a shoe that lasts you a lifetime. Try to pinch pennies up front and you may spend $150 now, but you'll be throwing the Cole Haans away in less than two years.
AE Park Avenues are on sale at Nordstrom right now for ~$230. Hard to beat...definitely recommend getting a pair.
Never trust a man without laces in his shoes.
If your gonna ask a chick about male suit shoes welcome to the back office. Just get some classic Oxford from Alden church Crockett
