Parking in Midtown

I'm coming to NY in early September (driving). Does anyone know good daily parking places for a day or two in the midtown area (not too far away from ts or grand central)?

Thanks!

Parking near GCT or TSQ will cost you your life savings. Some places near my office, cost close to $40/hr.

Park uptown, downtown, or on the far West Side somewhere and take a taxi or the subway.

Someone sent me a coupon from Central Parking ($25 for 24 hr.). It looks like they are all over the midtown area. Any experience with them? The price looks very good for sure.

Thanks for all the info!

Or... FYI... park close to GCS, in the early 40's between 3rd and 1st... park streetside and print up a nice official looking sign that says "On Duty U.S. Homeland Security"/"On Duty U.S. Secret Service"/"On Duty UN Official" and leaves on your glove box near your registration. I've seen numerous vehicles with these signs and no other official documentation (ie. no diplomat plates, official plates, US Govt plates, etc...) , never seen them ticketed.
