Pathway

Is there merit in attempting to join an MF PE out of undergrad instead of investment banking? What are the advantages if I do so, and will this move harm me in the long run? I am trying to gauge what path is the best to aim for because I am going to attend a target for IB not necessarily for MF PE. If the straight to MF PE path is truly better, I may try to transfer to HYPS or Wharton for a better chance at breaking in.
