I understand why you can't use multiples like EV/EBITDA or EV/EBIT when valuing banks but why is P/BV the preferred multiple to use when valuing FIG companies? Any help would be appreciated.
Also why do you use a dividend discount model instead of a DCF analysis when valuing a financial services company?
