PIMCO Real Estate Team
Does anyone know culture/comp/reputation of PIMCO's real estate team (BRAVO funds)? They seem to have raised a ton of money ($1.5B? not sure if they're on/behind schedule for the targeted $3-4B). They're hiring for a few positions right now so curious for anyone's thoughts. Almost every post here is on the FI side.
Literally didn't know that had one. Knew PacLife did but not PIMCO.
They have/had a small team and they make some long term, opportunistic land plays that have opportunity to concentrate capital and scale in key markets. They seemed like cool folks.
I spoke with a handful of their REPE guys in Newport Beach around this time three years ago. The people I spoke with had either come from other REPE shops or from actual operators and seemed like they knew their shit with real estate... not just farmed from fixed income or something. Their platform policy was to fly under the radar, hence the lack of publicity. At the time they said they were well positioned within the firm due to management's push toward alternative strategies. I don't know if that's still the case. They also had some people in NYC. Their NB team supposedly started the day at market hours like the rest of the firm.
They chase some interesting things. They were a best and final group on a large portfolio recap we shopped a few years ago. Good, smart people; I would echo everything Lizard Brain said.
They looked at a deal my firm was selling with an operating partner who they'd clearly placed a lot of trust in. They certainly seemed credible and capable of getting deals done.
NealCaffrey wondering if you've applied for that role and went to interviews?
Anyone know what compensation is like for this role? Pimco's LinkedIn job link: Commercial Real Estate Associate http://www.linkedin.com/jobs2/view/351636267
also curious.
seeing if anyone has any additional info, especially regarding comp/culture/hours of their NYC team
apparently as of july, bravo iii has closed on 3.1b of commitments, so it's shaping up to be a sizable fund

Looks like they are hiring an CRE debt originator for their bravo III fund
unless you meant to link another role, this role posted on glassdoor is a very senior role
If they're hiring a senior, a junior role usually follows, especially for a large institutional investor like this.
ah yes, makes sense.
