Play it safe (Transaction Services) or gamble (CF)

Hi guys,

Im currently doing an internship in Big4 TS (regional office) and need to decide which division to choose (London). As I am in TS plus the fact that TS take in more grads than CF, one part of me wants me to pick that division just because I should be offered a job unless I screw up badly. On the other hand, I want to work in CF, but the market is horrible so they aren't taking in that many new people from what I've heard.

Any thoughts would very appreciated! I need to decide by Wednesday.

I don't understand...are you starting the internship now or finishing? Do you have a choice for the internship between TS and CF, or are you in TS? If you have a choice now, I would intern in CF, and then if it looks unlikely that you will get an offer in CF, try to leverage your experience into a TS full-time offer. You don't absolutely have to work in the same division FT as the one you interned in.

I think he's interning in TS right now and has an opportunity to interview from within the company for a FT offer in TS or CF.

Go for the one you want. You'll kick yourself in a few years if you don't and are stuck in a job you don't want to be doing.
