PNC Capital Markets Summer Analyst or JP Morgan Chase Global Finance & Business Management Summer Analyst
Hi all,
I have an offer from PNC Capital Markets with their Asset & Liability Management team in Pittsburgh, PA. The full-time analyst program for PNC capital markets is a 3-year program and I was told that after my internship I would have the chance to go into another area of capital markets if I decided (FIG, Derivatives, Foreign Exchange, ABF, etc...) I also like this offer because I can work at the HQ and by working in Asset & Liab. Management get a holistic view of each area then have a chance to move internally or stick with ALM if I enjoy it.
I also have an offer from JP Morgan & Chase in their Global Finance & Business Management program in Wilmington, DE. It's a corporate finance role similar to the offer from PNC but I won't be working at their HQ. Additionally, I am not sure how easily I can move into a FO role. However, the JPM name is what keeps the offer enticing.
If anyone could provide any insight I'd really appreciate it. Also, if anyone knows of the salaries for each area at the full-time level that would help as well.

Haven't worked at either company, but looking through the description, JPM looks like the options are FP&A / controllers. The name + experience will make it easy to move to another corporate finance roll (either in financial services or elsewhere). Would expect that it will be very challenging to move the front office, both because of relatively little overlap in skill-set and because you're in Delaware. Very much a generalist role.
The PNC Capital Markets looks like the typical treasury role at a bank. Easier, (but definitely far from guaranteed) to move into front office, particularly capital markets or S&T. Less transferable skillset outside of banking and more of a specialist role.
If you're not sure what you want to do and were thinking about business school later on or corporate finance at a F500, I might choose JPM. If any of the capital markets roles described below look like something you want to do long-term (including investment banking and Capital Markets Group), I'd choose PNC.
