Taking the current corona-situation (and its economic effects) into account would it be wiser to do a 1 or a 2 year masters?
For those looking to apply for an investment banking internship in London, would a 1 or a 2 year masters program make more sense given a possible recession that the corona situation brings? In other words: do you think 1 year from now the economy will bounce back enough for IBs to start hiring as many interns as usual?
bump
Masters of what? what Level of school? can you afford 2 years?
2 cents if you work and network hard you can land a job after graduation given any job market.
These are my options: - Financial Economics at Erasmus Rotterdam (1 yr, target), tuition-free since I was awarded a scholarship.
- Quant Finanance at WU (2 yr, non-target), tuition-free - Finance & Investments at Copenhagen Business School (2 yr, a bit below Erasmus)
I would do the FI course at CBS. The two years will give you two summers for recruiting and given the coronasituation it will take time to get hiring back on track. Had multiple friends go there and they loved their experience. Quite a few students also have part-time internships and apparantly the Danish government will pay parts of your student loans if you work while studying. I’d try to get one of those at a place that also has offices in London such as Nordea, Danske, Swedbank, SEB, or an elite boutique like ABG.
Why did you not opt for the Finance & Investments Master at RSM (also Erasmus University)?
