Posts option to restrict to Verified Users Etc.

This is a sort of META post but I was wondering if WSO had given any thought to the merits of having a toggle where postings could only have responders who were verified users or in a certain industry or not college/high school kids etc. I’m all for free speech but I’ve been seeing a lot of advice threads from poster’s asking about what to do career-wise/decision making or outline personal situations & asking for input, and many of these threads have 50-70%+ of the first respondents (not replying to other comments but the post itself) who are “prospective candidates” etc. I’m not sure how helpful a 20 year old sophomore can be to a HF guy with a family making $500k thinking about transitioning to consulting (just the latest in these advice posts I’ve read)

For these sorts of posts specifically where the poster may want help/input/thoughts/comments from only a certain segment of WSO, I thought it could be an interesting idea.

I think the diversity of responses and opinions is generally good - you're rarely going to find someone in exactly the same position as you for advice.

I would rather see another category option for blatant shit posts and horny guys cracking stick to responses about what sex move their peers like.

I definitely need more monkey shitting capabilities for those weirdos.

The best and simplest way to improve the quality of the off topic forum is to get rid the anonymous posting feature.  There is inverse correlation between the decline in this forum and the increase in anonymous posts.

I do not think anonymous posting makes sense in any forum.  As long as you do not give out personal information, it is very unlikely someone is going to try to connect dots. Why would someone want to connect the dots?  No one here is all that important. It is not like you have CEOs of major corporations posting here.
