Private Debt Compensation
Hi all- private debt seems to be discussed much less than traditional buyout or other more common private markets roles. Does anyone have any color on working in private debt (compensation/lifestyle)? Thanks!

Did an internship last year at a private debt in Asia, AUM around 1.5B USD. MDs were usually former Director level ppl from BB. Heard their compensation (including bonus) were around 100K. Not so sure about associate level.
Not sure what the other poster above is talking about, but MD’s are making multi-millions with carry (albeit less than their PE counterparts) especially if they invest across the capital structure.
Expect a 10-20% haircut from PE salaries, but at the same time expect your hours to be 10-20 hours less as well.
is this true for different cities like Atlanta, Charlotte, DC, etc.?
Not sure. My experience is mostly Tier I and Tier II cities ex. NY, LA, SF, CHI, BOS
