Private Equity in southeast

Hey! I'm a second-year student probably doing a MM IBD internship in a major southeastern city. I may be able to get a full-time offer at this firm if they like me. However, I'm wondering if getting into private equity is very doable coming from MM IBD. Would I need to get an MBA?

It is, although it would probably be best to get to a bank that is known for having great placement. SRH has good placement for it's top analysts, ie top 10%, but beyond that, there are many that go into Corp. Dev.

Always a chance you can turn that internship and offer into an offer at a bank with better placement history.

Play the long game - give back, help out, mentor - just don't ever forget where you came from. #Bootstrapped

For anywhere that's not HBS, Wharton, Stanford, Chicago Booth, Columbia, Northwestern Kellogg, etc., is it worth paying for the MBA if the company isn't giving me a scholarship or even full-ride?

Atlanta: Arcapita, Roark, HIG (based in Miami though), Noble Invesment Group Charlotte: Ridgemont, Pamlico, Carousel, a few others I am not as familiar with Birmingham: New Capital Partners, Harbert Capital Management

I'm sure there are others, particularly in Richmond and across Florida that I do not know off of the top of my head but point being there are plenty of smaller places in the area
