Public/ Affordable Schools for IB?
I am a high schooler looking to get into IB. Are there any good public schools to get into banking?

I am hoping to find an affordable school. I have a 4.0 UW, 4.6 W GPA, but am looking to find somewhere public but affordable. Do you guys know anywhere good for IB?
What state do you live in? If you live in Michigan, Texas, Virginia, California, or North Carolina and you can get into your state schools business school that would be a great option.
I live in Illinois, so we don’t have a great state school. I’ve looked into places like UNC, Michigan, and Indiana.
I’m hoping to get into some targets, but I was wondering if there were some smart safety schools.
BYU cheapest school and amazing for IB.
Not public but affordable
Thank you!
That’s very true, but I personally would not recommend unless you’re a Mormon, or at least Christian, or at the very least White. Still, strong recruitment and also affordable.
Lots of LAC give good FA if you aren’t well off
Baruch in nyc is super cheap and does place well in nyc with banks. It’s not a target or a big name school but it gets the job done if you put in the work.
Don't go to Baruch, but definitely can affirm about 10 people get into banking every year
Would you get financial aid? My target ivy was effectively 20k less than out of state public’s like UVA/Mich. Don’t underestimate that. There are also schools like wake forest that give full rides to a select few from merit scholarships, which could be worth looking into. Finally, UF is an ok option with its masters in finance program (you take the gmat as a sophomore and finish masters in 4 years); IB placement is mainly feeding into RBC, wells, Raymond James, suntrust. Also if you’re looking into safety schools, just know that top public’s like UNC and UVA can sometimes be harder to get into as an out of state kid because they have to take a certain amount of in state students.
I probably won’t. My sister is a senior, and wasn’t given any financial aid, so I’m guessing I won’t either.
tbh if you're from illinois, UIUC isn't a bad choice at all. know some people at JPM, some boutiques who started at u of i. not the easiest, but doable.
UC Berkeley, Cal Poly SLO, and UCLA for west coast IB
Interesting I’ve never heard SLO in the west coast conversation. Also USC is better than all of those for IB.
