Pure strategy consulting after KPMG Deals Advisory

Currently I'm an associate at KPMG deals advisory, will become an AM in 2-3 years (Asia). I'm a chartered accountant. My goal is a pure strategy role in Canada at preferably mbb but i'm indifferent b/w b4, 2nd/3rd tiers and mbb . Will choose the highest pay as long as its strategy. I have two options(at least right now) in mind on how to get there. Please comment on the below options and offer any advice you have as i'm very confused:

1) get into an elite mba (rotman, ivey, mcgill, hec paris, imperial, Oxbridge). This is quite difficult. Will need a 730+ gmat (i know im not gonna get more than 700) this will get me in but financing is the biggest issue for me. This option could work if i spend 1 year in b4 Canada in deals (will be easier to get in) and raise some cash. All in all, this will be the most difficult thing i would have ever faced but possible.

2) no mba. get into canada b4 deals and try for a jump into b4 strategy or mbb. idk if this even works. i could get into a corporate sponsored mba too if my role is strategy and its their requirement or something for career progression.

Top MBA is tried and true path

Going to canada B4 deals and hopping to a generalist strategy role might be tough, since demand for lateral hires is typically not super high (right now being an exception). I'm also not sure how easy it would be to get a Canadian job directly from your position from a work sponsorship / immigration perspective, but I don't have particular knowledge there

The corporate sponsored MBA isn't really a path, since you need to get the corporate strategy job first for that to apply

Internal transfers to other offices is common here but the question still remains whether a jump to strategy role is possible or not. Yes corporate sponsored mba will only work if if get a strategy role first. Will ask around about the corporate sponsorship then. Thanks

Yes I know. I meant that if an employer is sponsoring my mba (paying the fee only), I will have to work for it post mba and that would only be beneficial if I already have a strategy role there.
