If you have enough time to write a book, your group obviously doesn't have deal flow.
I'd say they're okay. Good with debt financing, not much else. Sub-UBS/Credit Suisse, better than WF, not as good as a top tier BB or the best MM's like Baird.
The guy who wrote the book, Rosenblaum, did not write the book during his time at RBC.
Ah you're right, Rosenbaum wrote it while he was at UBS. Everything else I said in my post still stands.

Would you say they are better or worse than houlihan?
Probably about the same. But HLHX is very sweaty. RBC has a slightly better cultural reputation, although I hear they tend to throw people out in the deep end with no training and bonuses can be a big surprise. I had a friend there who got excellent reviews at her mid-year and then was told to look for a new job at her year end. There was no inbetween communication, she went from "you're doing great!" to "this isn't working" with no warning.
