If you have enough time to write a book, your group obviously doesn't have deal flow.

I'd say they're okay. Good with debt financing, not much else. Sub-UBS/Credit Suisse, better than WF, not as good as a top tier BB or the best MM's like Baird.

 

Probably about the same. But HLHX is very sweaty. RBC has a slightly better cultural reputation, although I hear they tend to throw people out in the deep end with no training and bonuses can be a big surprise. I had a friend there who got excellent reviews at her mid-year and then was told to look for a new job at her year end. There was no inbetween communication, she went from "you're doing great!" to "this isn't working" with no warning.
