RE Private Equity question
Hi Guys
I've been taking some modelling courses on Get REFM for RE models. These models aren't traditional 3-statement models, so I know this question may be a little short-sighted, but do people who work in REPE understand how to read financial statements (IS/BS/CF), etc? Or, is this not a skill-set required in REPE?
I work for a MM IBD right now and am looking at options in the Denver market...
Thx Zack
If you do any kind of retail, office or industrial deal you will spend a good deal of time going through the potential tenant's/tenants' financial statements (BS/IS/CF) to make sure this a a company that can execute on their lease and is a credit worthy tenant. It is an essential skill in REPE.
I would say this is a general skill that is applicable in any type of finance/Real Estate position. Always handy to have that understanding.
