Realistic Salary/Bonus out of M7?

I ran across this article: http://poetsandquants.com/2014/03/13/what-mbas-are-making-at-the-top-50…

It gives the average top 50 mba schools salary+bonus from 2013. I was suprised to see that it's roughly what some guys make in their 2nd year at IB or 1st year at a PE shop.

I maybe am naive or drinking too much WSO koolaid, but how difficult and how long would it to be to make 200-300k out of b-school? If you go to an M7 would you say you have a 70% chance to make that type of money or is making >150k a lot harder than people make it out to be on this forum? Also I would be interested in hearing how long it would take to make that type of money at a fortune 100 vs. IB/HF/PE/VC

Well, the majority will become consultants making ~140-180k all in and bankers making ~150-200k. Corporate guys with ~100-140k and PE guys with 200-300k will maintain the equillibrium from two sides, with the mean somewhat pulled down by the non-profit people saving the whales for ~50-70k. So unless you can secure a PE offer, making 200-300k straight out of business school is probably too optimistic.
