How much does the owner of a REPE fund that has around 20 Billion AUM rake in a year. Honestly seems crazy if the fee model is the same as typical PE.

$20B AUM aint doing 2 and 20.
The real trick is to do your own property management then pay yourself for that in addition to the typical fees.
I think you'd be surprised how unprofitable that model is. Unless you're a slumlord and just pocketing all of it, most of those fees get eaten up by staffing costs almost immediately.
Plus you have to run you own property management business, which would be one of the least enjoyable things imaginable.
