School and Major for S&T?
Are there "niche" schools out there that feed into S&T? Also, are math/comp sci majors usually prioritized over traditional finance/econ applicants? I've read that S&T doesn't really look for ugrad pedigree as much as IB but I could be wrong here so just wanted to double check.
aannnd I might as well ask. Will S&T start accelerating their recruiting like IB has? Are there still other ways to break in if you can't secure a SA out the gate?
Thanks.
Based on my internship, can say that most interns were from ivy or similar tier schools with math, engineering, CS majors and a couple of quantitative finance majors. Im from Ivy (HYP) with math and Econ double major and that was fairly typical. A couple history and poli sci people were hired, though pushed into sales roles rather than trading.
The BB I was at (MS/GS) does all FT hiring out of SA class, or poaching other firms traders.
Recruiting is very accelerated though not as much as IB, first round of superdays is already underway but many spots still left.
GS Superday invites are out?
Not sure of the dates sorry, ask your recruiter
Alright, thanks.
I'm a pol sci major from top tier school going through S&T recruiting. Is there any chance I will be placed in a more quantitative role like trading or structuring or is it most likely I will be pushed into sales? Seems like there is less math/CS people in trading roles than I first thought there would be.
Is structuring as technical as trading?
