Set the record straight on FIG

Incoming analyst at Citi fig, have seen a lot of people saying FIG pigeonholes you and others saying it doesn’t at all to other saying that fig helps you because it differentiates you, can somebody set the record straight on fig for pe recruiting?

I've personally seen many analysts exit to MM / UMM PE funds at my BB's FIG group. I wouldn't know how the specifics of the job translate to PE as I'm in a different coverage group, but I will say that FIG guys aren't just stuck working with banks/insurance. They cover other verticals like BDCs and SPACs which are hot right now, and Fintech which is an ebitda business that translates well to growth equity.
