Should I stay in bulge bracket firm (WM side) or leave for new summer opportunities? (Junior)

Hi guys,

I am a junior and I'm currently working in wealth management division for bulge bracket company as a part time employee now (After working for them for 10 months I've transitioned into part time employee or Clients Services Associate). In terms of my goal, I would like to go into S&T (More on Sales side) or Investment Banking.

My experience: in short break down: 1. Bulge bracket firm (11 months and counting) 2. Head hunters firm (3 months) 3. top 10 real estate firm (3 months) 4. tutoring company start up as marketing intern

Due to workload and personal circumstances, I haven't been able to fully participate in Fall recruiting at my school (NYC) and I've just began to do some interviews this semester. However, most financial firms have finished up their recruiting and I am now mainly interviewing for data analytics summer positions for large consumer/consulting firms.

Now my question is, if I do get an offer elsewhere which is likely to be non-finance position, should I take it and gain different type of experience or stay and keep networking using my bulge bracket email? (I've been very successful at getting informational phone calls and leads through this) I feel like I've gained everything I can from this internship, but staying throughout the summer would give me some perks on future recruiting.

  • For example, I have direct contact information (phone numbers, emails, and etc) for all recruiters, interviewers, campus representatives just by looking up "right group names" on the internal contact database.

**In addition, if I do stay, I will be taking Series 7 over the Summer since the company is willing to sponsor it. And this is if I do stay over the summer.

I should also note that although I am an employee, I don't think there will be a full-time offer for me after graduation for my current position, unless I am willing to become an FAA.
