Some advice needed - Math major about to finish 3rd year

hey all. I'm a math major just about to finish my third year this year and my gpa is pretty crap. Diagnosed with ADHD, dicked around a lot and didn't really realize how important marks were in finding a job, and I also had to hold several crappy jobs during school to pay for it. Anyway, that ship has sailed, nothing i can really do about it now except do my best in the final year.
Experience wise I only have helped with some statistics research under a professor of mine.
It seems pretty unanimous that the next best thing to do is network and possibly do the CFA? The investment banking route is pretty much gone but I wasn't too sure about it anyway. wanted to do quantitative work, but I think most, if not all of those jobs require a masters in math/physics at the least. My cousin suggested to look into possibly working in risk/credit risk since its pretty close to quantitative work and it's where most of the physics/math grads go? I think that falls under risk management, although i never really knew much about it.
So about networking; I don't know anyone right now in the industry but what i did so far is look for all the boutique banks in my area and cold emailed some of the analysts. I am a bit clueless about the risk management route though. I'm not sure how to break into that. Are there specialized risk management firms out there?
If i get any responses, the first meeting is basically an informational meeting correct? When is the right time to contact them again after the first meeting and is it possible for them to refer you to someone else?
Any advice at all would be appreciated.
