SPAC Focused Hedge Fund Recruiting
Hello,
I currently work in an investment banking product group and have recently become interested in SPACs. Does anyone have insight into the recruitment process for funds that invest in SPACs? Are there SPAC dedicated entry positions or are they usually covered by sector specialists?
Any color would be greatly appreciated.
no
Thx so much

Just curious, does the sustainability of the current SPAC boom not concern you? Sounds crazy to me to tie your long-term career to something so speculative and pro-cyclical.
I know that some of the usual headhunters are recruiting for SPAC roles on a one-off basis. But they are looking for mid-level to senior professionals who can source deals.
Some of the MMs have started recruiting for SPAC focused analysts, but the majority of the time SPACs fall under the umbrella of merger / convertible arb funds and then to a lesser extent event-driven/credit guys. I'm not aware of any firms exclusively focused on SPACs. But like hominem said, your ability to bring in primary, secondary, and PIPE flow via ECM networks is going to matter a lot.
