Strange but Positive Walmart Experience

I had a strange online Walmart experience. I had placed an order to buy some goods and the order was delivered very promptly. On some items, they have next day free shipping. However, as part of the delivery, in a separate box, was a Vizio sound bar system that I did not order. (and was not charged for it) I called them up to explain the situation, thinking that they would send a UPS guy to pick it up. (I know...most people probably would have kept the item and called it a day.) The rep at Walmart asked me to take the item back to my nearest store, which is a about a 10-15 minute drive from my house. WTF, why would they ask me to use my time to return an item that I did not order. The rep consulted with a manager and then told me that I could keep the item. The item costs about $150. Now, I need to figure out what to do with a sound bar system, LOL.

By the way, Walmart has great customer service

Returning the item would be a hassle, as it would take about 30 minutes of my time. The gift card suggestion is a good one but I do not think a Walmart rep would be able to make that happen.

I had this happen with amazon. I ordered a drain plug for my sink for $4 or something. Inside of the folder was a 128 gig flash drive which retailed for $25 or something. I called Amazon to try and return it. When the offshore individual finally understood that the order was not wrong and that I received an extra item; he said keep it and closed the ticket.

And I applaud your honesty. Walmart once sent me two high valued items when I ordered 1. I took the extra item back to the store. The clerk looked at me funny when I said two were received. She was sure I was charged twice on my credit card. I assured her I was not and that I simply needed to give back the extra item.
