Taking a Gap Year for a Master of Science?
I'll be joining a specialized coverage group (think chemicals, energy). I'm currently thinking about taking either the GRE or GMAT for MBA admissions, and a friend suggested I take the GRE for the optionality to pursue a non-MBA grad program.
If I end up going A2A, how would my firm look on me taking a year off to pursue a Master of Science to deepen my credentials in the space? Like, if I left on good terms at the end of ASO 1, would I be able to rejoin as an ASO 2?
I have noticed that a lot of the senior bankers have advanced degrees or deep applied industry expertise. I am an engineering major, which they assured me is good enough, but I was thinking it might be a nice breather from IB lifestyle while still developing my credentials and knowledge. Thank you for your insights!
Also, I know thats all far in advance, but a rough idea would help me figure out which grad school test to take right now haha
