TD Securities NYC
Hi all. I am a sophomore at a top state school starting to think about recruiting. A good friend's relative works at TD Securities in New York.
If anybody could shine a light on how TD ranks relative to other firms in the US that would be great. I understand that it's a growing firm. How do exit opps compare to other banks (Nomura, Deutsche Bank, KeyBank, Wells Fargo)? How would analyst experience compare?
I know TD is still tiers below some BBs and EBs...
Appreciate any and all thoughts.
I worked at TDS this past summer as a sophomore on a niche desk within the S&T division (not based out of NYC). I think TD has a good brand name because they are one of the largest consumer/commercial banks in the US but their presence on Wall Street has been growing a ton lately. My MD said he would go down to the trading floor in NYC like ten years ago and it would be empty but now it's impossible to find a seat when he's there. The firm has a great supportive culture and a lot of people who go there end up sticking around for a while (at least within S&T). I can't say anything about the exit opps or anything along those lines but it's an awesome place to work. They're also getting a new office in NYC close to Grand Central. It's a competitive world out there so I would say definitely go for it if you have a good connection and let everything else sort itself out through your recruiting process.

Thanks for the info! I know you didn't work in NY but did you know of any S&T interns in NY who were there as sophomores (ie just finished sophomore year)?
Not sure about S&T. There were a couple girls from my school who worked there for IB as sophomores thru a diversity program.

They’re very solid in Canada. Not as strong in the US, but they’re looking to grow. Would take TD over Nomura/Keybanc, but would stick to DB/WF over it
