That time of year

Well that time of year for all SA has come to find housing. My question for all the seniors who have done this already, is which dorms are the best at NYU? I know about the search feature, but would love knew info. Thanks in advance from me and all the other SA who will be staying at NYU.

I am an NYU Alum and can tell you, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that Alumni Hall is by far the best dorm. You get your own private bedroom (share a suite with 1-3 people), and it's footsteps away from the 6 train and only a few blocks from Union Square (and hence, right near Paladium and it's gym). It's on 3rd Ave and 9th Street. I spent two years and two summers in that dorm and can tell you that it blows anything else out of the water.

Fuck, what I would give to go back to school...

Ive had friends live in palladium and water, palladium has better location , but water has nice rooms.

Downtown is dead at night, so depends on how often you want to go out after work.

I've got some friends asking me about this too

How are Coral Towers, Lafayette STreet, and Third Ave?

Third Ave is in a great location. Near Palladium, where the main NYU gym is, and near Union Square.

The actual housing is shitty though -- 4 people per apartment, which is tiny, and 1 bathroom.

Has the email already been sent out regarding NYU housing? I'm still in the process of final round interviews with a few places, but assumed that NYU didn't begin summer housing process until March. Correct me if I'm wrong...

It begins in mid-late February, so perhaps soon. They refuse to release when. I'm most likely going to be in midtown, seems like it should be fun with all the interns in the housing.

I was told by HR from a (top BB) to apply for housing because she wasn't sure if they would be doing it this year. She said that if they did, then they would refund the fees that I incurred. (obv not the 2.5% they charge you for the payment processor only the $50... gay :( not that there's anything wrong with that!)

for those of you wanting to do NYU a couple suggestions.... First and foremost you must apply the first day and preferably within hours of getting your SID # or your going to be screwed and end up with one of your last choices.

They took like 3 days to process and give me a SID # and I ended up getting my 6th or 7th choice.

Sublet this year. Rents have been tanking in some areas (esp. fidi) and it might get even worse this summer. You can prob. sublet for like 800-1000 bedroom per month whereas I dont know if NYU rates have dropped at all. Also, NYU kicked me out the last week of my internship my summer year so I had to find another place for a week and it was a huge pain. just my 3 cents.

Alumni Hall. Unless you want to share a bedroom with another dude, go to Alumni Hall. Unless you don't even plan on trying to pull any tail, there is no reason to share a bedroom with someone. That shit is type homo.

3rd Avenue & 9th Street is a tight location with fun bars nearby and easy access to transportation and Union Square. Anyone suggesting living in the Financial District over the East Village is a tard, there isn't dog shit to do down there.

I'm actually looking for CS too unless something changes. Any suggestions?
