The 25 Best Fast-Food Chains In America Right Now
As I was out for lunch, I was curious as to what research there about the "best" fast-food chains in America. That's when I stumbled upon this article. The article states that;
financial performance, customer satisfaction, and overall value. Our calculations accounted for sales growth, average sales at each location, consumer-sentiment ratings, and the average cost of a meal, among other metrics.Using proprietary data collected by Restaurant Business and its sister research firm Technomic from 2016, we looked at nearly 100 of the largest US chains and rated them on three criteria we considered the most telling for all-around fast-food excellence:
Top 5 as listed by the article:
1. In-N-Out Burger
2. Raising Canes Chicken Fingers
3. Chick-Fil-A
4. Whataburger
5. Krispy Kreme
I was happy to see that Tim Hortons (Famous Canadian fast-food) was ranked in the top. Besides Tim Hortons, I saw few places that I recognized/been to.
What do you believe should/should not have been on the list, and did your favorite fast-food place make the list?
I graduated High School with the founder of Raising Cane's - Todd Graves.
I've been eating Cane's since its inception and 99% of my friends, coworkers and family live and die by the delicious and extremely simple menu.
I'll indulge you with said menu for your culinary reading pleasure: - "Always fresh, never frozen" tender chicken fingers battered to perfection and always served at the perfect temperature - Thick, buttery and soft Texas toast with a light sesame seed crust - Crinkle-cut french fries with the perfect amount of salt every time - Coleslaw - never tried it, but my coworker just informed me that it's "creamy with a delicate yet flavorful crunch" - The star of the show, Cane's sauce is a proprietary blend of nobody's-sure-what and this stuff is absolutely incredible. I have met few Cane's goers who don't care for the concoction. With the exception of coleslaw, every menu item mentioned above is used as a Cane's sauce spoon.
It is no surprise that this simple restaurant is seeing so much recent success. In my opinion, its simplicity resembles, if not out-simplifies that of In-N-Out Burger.
To anyone who has yet to try Raising Cane's - rest assured, you still have at least one thing to look forward to in this lifetime.
Raising Cane's is the fucking truth.
I love Cane's, but I think I prefer Zaxby's if I have to choose
I approve of the top 5, Cane's and Chick Fil A are a must in any fast food list. Like the Whataburger inclusion as well.
p.s. firehouse subs has the best subs and I highly recommend pollo campero
Jersey Mike's was the go to catered lunch during my IB internships, love to see the recognition/brings back bad memories. I don't like fast food, and I live on the east coast so I've never had #1, 2, 4 along with many others on that list. Fast food pizza is a sin in my book.
Culver's and Zaxby's are the truth too. On another note, I think I need to reevaluate my eating choices... I've had everything on this list save for 6, 7, 8, and 13.
In-n-out was so disappointing. I was in California recently and hadn't eaten in there in about 20 years and went to try it out again. Maybe my expectations were too high., but it was about like a Wendy's or Sonic. Nowhere near 5 guys or Shake Shack. Or an actual good local place.
Straight up In-N-Out is subpar. Fries taste like shit, burger is ok. Animal style is the only unique thing about it. McDonalds Big Mac and Fries tops In-N-Out. I don't know why there is so much hype about it.
Jason's Deli??? FOH
As an aside, looks like BI is becoming more like Buzzfeed everyday.
Jason's Deli is fucking disgusting. Culver's and Chic-fil-a are the bomb.com. Taco Johns is damn good too
Chipotle.
I'm always amazed at how different supply chains are by country. Try Mickey Ds or BK in France, it's incredible. Pizza Hut in Europe is basically crack pie as well.
Shake Shack's shackburger is really excellent, not a fan of the fries.
McD's & BK in Argentina were crack pie
i heard a rumor the meat from McD's was sourced domestically? if true explains a lot
I think that's the secret.
Raising Cane's and Cook Out are God-tier fast food.
Glad to see Schlotzsky's get the recognition it deserves. Would've liked to see Portillo's on the list.
Sorry, but Schlotzky's is horrible man haha
We'll agree to disagree there.
+1 on Portillo's
No time for the ol' in-out, love. I've just come to read the meter.
I just tried Raising Cane's today for the first time and the chicken was incredibly tender. Simply fantastic. I was not as sold on the fries given how soggy they were, but I've never been a fry guy so that is not nearly as important to me. The coleslaw was good too.
I think Cold Stone should be listed higher given how tasty their ice cream is. It is better than Dairy Queen and the local ice cream shops.
Culvers, Chic-Fil-A and Zaxby's are too good.
I have not heard of half of these.
That said best fast food would have to include Taco Bell.
This has to be a joke, Taco bell is disgusting.
Ha, no joke. Their Cheesy Gordita Crunch is the best creation known to man.
Also I never eat fast food so if I do I go for the one that isn't good for me. Healthy fast food is an oxymoron.
Currently going in on a steak doubledilla and all is right with the world.
Wienerschnitzel. Der fun since '61.
The exclusion of White Castle is concerning.
Jamba - Pretty shitty, overpriced can usually find better local option nearby. Jimmy John's - Sucks Cold Stone - Sucks. Usually way better options at Sprouts & Whole Foods ice cream aisles for lower price... Five Guys - Huge fan. Dank. Expensive. Cinnabon - Mehhh Ben & Jerry's - Slightly better than Cold Stone. Local options always better Habit - Sucks Krispy Kreme - Goddamn TERRIBLE. SO many local places are vastly superior and cheaper Chick Fil-A - Actually pretty tasty but try not to support companies that want a theocracy In N Out - Decent
Can't believe they didn't include SHAKE SHACK. The best by far. When the cheese oozes out of the fried portobello in your shack stack>>>>>>
Haven't tried the rest
Shake Shack is okay, but i can't justify $20 on a burger and fries at a "fast-food" place.
Chipotle?
Not fast food. It's fast-casual.
.
In-N-Out is the most overrated fast food restaurant.
Jack in the Box is amazing.
