Thoughts on Macquarie Infra PE SA over regular investment banking SA?
I got a summer offer in infrastructure private equity with Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA) in New York. What are some thoughts/pros/cons on taking this offer over pursuing a more traditional summer analyst gig in investment banking?

I'd take Macquarie. There's plenty of opps to recruit for banking ft, but Macquarie you only have the summer to do. Also, the hours are better and I hear the program is very good.
One thing I'm worried about is the return offer rate vs traditional banking. Does anyone know what the return offer rate typically is for MIRA?

MIRA - hands down.
Don't you pigeonhole yourself to Infra and REPE? That's why I turned down the super for an EB offer bc I wasn't sure if I had a long-term interest in those fields

Just FYI Macquarie is the cheapest bank I have ever heard of. Their approach to cost institutionally permeates all aspects of the organization (perks, bonus, etc).
Could you elaborate/give examples?
