TIDBITS TO BRIGHTEN YOUR DAY!
Here’re a few tidbits to brighten your day and put a little lift in your walk as we make our way towards the sunny weekend:
-The Labor Department reported that the new-crew of fresh laid-off workers seeking unemployment benefits has soared last week to the likes not seen since right after the 9/11 attacks! Hurrah!
-Intel Corp cut more than $1 billion from its sales forecast, providing more evidence that few industries are safe from a clampdown on spending by businesses as well as consumers. Bu-ya!
-Walmart--the den of discount, has trimmed their expectations for full-year earnings; a sign of severe pullback in consumer spending that pummeled stocks early this week. Right on!
-This holiday season will most likely will be the slowest in record. Abercrombie & Fitch Co. and JCPenney Co, both predict their profits will come in below Wall Street's already lowered projections.
Consumer-rific!
-Sun Microsystems Inc. will cut up to 6,000 workers which equates to about 18 percent of their global staff. The call it “a massive restructuring plan.” Tech-tastic!
-Handset maker Nokia Corp. warned the global economic slowdown will weigh on sales next year. Headset-credible!
Celebrate! Celebrate! Dance to the music! Now have a good day!
