To quit or to stay?

I am currently filling out Bschool apps for 2019. I am in a role that I absolutely hate and have been for just over a year. I have made good contacts and don’t regret my time here but it is definitely not what I want to do. My question is am I able to move to something else for a year once i get my letter of recommendation or would this look weird to bschools? I don’t want to spend the next year here but will if it gets me to the right school.

I believe that you have every chance of it. I was in a similar situation and one day I decided to change everything. I left my place and began to look for myself. While I was on the lookout, I tried a lot of options at home, for example, And now I can afford to work for udoyolyulsiya and not for earning

Part of my answer would depend on what you're doing now, what you intend to do until you start school, and what you want to do after your MBA?

I don't think anyone should stay in a role that they absolutely hate. (I am worried about your word choice!!.) So I want you to do what's best for you personally and find yourself a role that is much better for you.

If we think about this from an admissions standpoint, my guess is that your recommenders at your current firm will have the sense that you are not happy. You run the risk of this coming through in your recommendations which may hurt you.

So I think you have 3 options: 1. Apply R1 and switch jobs after your apps are in. (But per above I'm still worried that your recommenders may bring up how unhappy you are which may reflect poorly on you.) 2. Find a new gig immediately and apply in R2. Explain how the new gig has helped crystallize your MBA plans/was such an amazing opportunity that you couldn't say no. 3. Find a new gig immediately, do an awesome job, work on strengthening all the other elements of your candidacy, and apply R1 next year.

All of this may need to be refined based on stats etc but just my general thoughts not knowing all the details...
