Most large cap PE firms will pay their associates in USD, so generally speaking, whoever is the highest paying in the US will also be the highest paying in Europe. Some of the names known to pay above market include Apollo, H&F and Warburg Pincus.
Oh, so like they convert from usd then pay?
also, what EBs (pjt/pwp/evr/cvp) have best exits to h&f and apollo in London?
thanks

There is not a general answer to this question. Much more is dependent on other factors, namely gender and other diversity criteria, language, deal experience and lastly perceived prestige of the bank.
Don't worry, it can be done from all of these boutiques. Candidates from BBs, however, are usually preferred (ceteris paribus). Don't think H&F would hire from an EB, they largely hire consultants and fill the remaining spots from top BBs. Apollo is a bit of a random place, so very hard to see a pattern in their recruiting. Due to their nature of hairy deals, candidates with RX experience will be valued. Candidates from EBs will stand a decent chance here.
Generally, I would see PJT/PWP/Evercore on the same level ahead of CVP.
What has already been said is correct. In addition, Bain Capital is known to pay £120+£120 in cash and other benefits on top such as significant leverage on co-invest.
If anybody has insights on senior associate type roles (after 2-3 years of PE), I’d love to have more visibility.
Have they recently raised comp then? 120k fixed is almost unheard of given most other large funds pay between 90-100k fixed but rather >1x bonus.
Nah a friend was already getting that as A1 back in 2018 so it’s not new. I think there are a couple of funds paying that
Interesting, thank you. Still seems quite high to me, but good for them. Guess other funds compensate over bonus then. Only other funds paying as much as 120k I know of are APO and H&F (and WP but only after recent raise).
