total compensation for an entry level Equity Research analyst?
Hey guys i was wondering what to expect when it comes to compensation in equity research. Are entry level analysts payed the same as IB analysts? how much could i expect from working at a BB? do you make more on the buy side or sell side?
thanks
Somewhere between 90-120k. Could be higher at certain firms but on average should be around there.
A lot of threads on this OP please use search function. With all things considered, base is usually in-line with IB but lower bonuses. Can expect ~85k base + 20-60k bonus for first two years. Hours vary depending on earnings season, can go up to 80/90 hours then.
For entry levels (non-covering analyst), it can be 70-120k all in comp. After a few years the comp will be equivalent to whatever unemployment benefits your state provides.
This is the reason why you always need to read the entire sentences. LOL.
Were you laid off from research? Seems like it from your post history. Sry if so
