Anyone have experience at Nomura? What are their best desks? Do they have a strong presence across exchanges or a specific asset class? Is this a place where you'd want to trade? Why/why not?

They used to have a very strong US Credit and EM Credit trading desk but, those teams have since left. From what I know they are pretty strong in the MBS space as well as non-US rates and FX.

I don't think it's a secret that exit opps will be better from FT GS

if you don't mind me asking what desk did you get your offer from at GS? I know plenty of people that have started on one desk and ended up on a completely different product/desk a few years out. If I were you I would take the FT offer from GS and network internally from there. There's a lot of turnover at the beginning of the year and a junior seat may open up on the desk you want. on a side note, I would take a trading role at GS any day over Nomura.

I worked there over the summer in ops and spent a lot of time with the stock loan traders. They are doing a massive buildout now in equities trading. What exactly do you want to know?
