Transfer to Semi-Target for consulting?
I'm currently finishing my sophomore year as a pre-med student at Wayne State University. Business was always on the back of my mind so I took a lot of pre-reqs the past two years. I am currently 3 years away from finishing and applying to med school, but as I have actually researched business and what path I want to take, consulting is something I really really want to do.Realizing Wayne State's business school will best chance get me a f500 analyst job, I've applied to Indiana and Ross at U of M. I got into Indiana easy, and I'm still waiting on Ross. My question is if I don't get into Ross(likely). Do I go to Indiana for 3 years where I'm paying 34k a year in tuition? The recruiting and placement at MBB is similar for Ross and the top students in Kelley. Both place 2-3 people at each of Bain, BCG and McKinsey every year. If I get into Ross I'll take it easily, because it's instate and only 16k a year for me. The dilemma is between going to kelley for three years, risking not getting into the consulting workshop and paying 32k a year, or just finishing out premed here at wayne state and probably getting into med school at wayne state where I am paying the same price of 34k a year for med school instead. In both situations I need to maintian a high GPA (over 3.8) so I'm not concerned about that, but I dont know if even that will be enough for the consulting workshop. Personally I would much prefer consulting, but I'm not sure if it makes sense financially, to go to kelley, when I could get through medical school at a similar cost.
bump
you could try MBB with doctoral entry? Seems tricky all around, but that may be a card that you may play. Transfer may be too late now for internship cycles
