Transition from Corporate Finance to Equity Research
Hello,
I recently graduated and accepted a corporate finance role because by the time I received the offer, I was in a position where I needed a fall back and a source of income while I search for IB/ER positions. Plus, the firm I work for is phenomenal. I have been working there for about two months but am still looking to get into ER. I have pretty substantial experience and have written a buy(Ferrari), a hold (Royal Caribbean), and a sell (Drone Aviation) report.
My question is, being a recent graduate and only having worked at my current firm for two months, would I be better off leaving this position off my resume for BB ER analyst jobs? Is this any different for applications to boutique/regional and MM ER firms? I am certain that I would like to do equity research and I genuinely love investigating firms and determining a price target for them.
My other question is whether I should include the industries or company names that I wrote reports for?
Any other feedback on my resume or how I should go about applying is also welcomed. Thanks for any help.
