Transition from MM PE to respected HF?

Wanted to gage how common the 2 IB > 2 MM PE > HF career path is. For reference, currently at a well respected 3bn fund. Firm has been around forever with consistent top quartile returns. Most threads on here reference moving to HF from MF PE but wanted to see if MM PE to HF is much tougher. Ideally would target a Tiger Cub.
