Trump vs CBS After Colbert's Uncalled For Comments
Just when I thought the news was stall, I read this article about Trump vs CBS. According to the article, Trump treated John Dickerson; a CBS news reporter with no respect. In response to the way John was treated, the article states that;
“When you insult one member of the CBS family, you insult us all! Bazinga!” Colbert said, quoting the catch phrase from the CBS sitcom “The Big Bang Theory.”
As well as adding in that;
“Donald Trump, John Dickerson is a fair-minded journalist and one of the most competent people who will ever walk into your office, and you treat him like that?” Colbert said.
But then, Colbert suggests a physical relationship between Putin and Trump. This is what then sparked the FireColbert hashtag, which as stated in the article;
As of late Tuesday night, the hashtag #FireColbert was the No. 2 trending topic nationally
On the flip side for Colbert, as mentioned in the article;
Colbert’s anti-Trump antics have proven a ratings winner for “The Late Show,” which has eclipsed Jimmy Fallon’s “The Tonight Show” on NBC CMCSA, -2.03% for 13 weeks in a row. But he remains neck-and-neck with Fallon, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
What do you guys think about this whole situation?
Colbert was uncalled for. Anyone who would have said half that about Obama would have been insta fired.
Politics aside, we all should try and find some civility. Trump was elected president and many of the people who voted for him and genuinely hurting. Viciously insulting the President because you don't like him just tears this country apart. One of the reasons I liked trump was his willingness to make deals regardless of political party.
Colbert has a history of making pretty racist comments also.
care to elaborate on Colbert's history of racist comments?
Not sure what's funnier though. Colbert's diatribe against Trump. Or Trump calling Dickerson's show "Deface the Nation". Both are hilarious.
The funniest part is that he said to directly to his face on his show... Reminds of the good ole days when he was not President and would make fun of Wolf Blitzer, Hugh Hewitt, and others for their ratings to their faces....
The good ole days.... when he had no power but was still completely hilarious.
I think the fools who confound PC speech with civility are as bad as the SJWs, but Colbert's comments, in my opinion, were uncivil. With that being said, I don't think he should be fired for it.
