UG student with a bunch of time to kill- any advice?

Prospect in IB-M&A

Hi! I'm a freshman at a non-target school hoping to break into IB/ER (I ended with a 3.68 GPA last semester because I screwed around a bit, but it should be mid-high 3.7 cumulative after this spring semester).
Anyway, I received credit for some AP courses I took in high school, which amount to one semester's worth of credits. I briefly considered graduating early before hearing that it'd be in my best interest to graduate in 4 years (like normal).
So, to delay my graduation, I have a couple ideas: increase my course load by pursuing a double major (in finance + economics/mathematics/etc.), or take a semester off and find a spring/fall full time internship somewhere (heard these are easier to get at boutique banks and other smaller places). What would you do in my situation?
Thanks for reading!

IB off-cycle internship would definitely be more beneficial/set you up better for EB/BB opps down the line, especially as a freshman.

But most of all just enjoy college above all else. You have the right ideas, but just remember to have fun also.

was in a similar boat. Honestly not sure yet a year or so later. Might double finance and econ or just add like 2 minors. From what I gather from guys ik who have done SA recruiting already it really doesn't matter that much, so do whatever you are interested in, maybe go abroad or something that would be fucking cool to talk about networking/interviewing

Honestly just lighten up on courses (3-4 a semester). You can focus on your classes but also have a lot of free time.

Look for 1-2 off cycle internships during the school year if possible. A double major is a lot of extra classes, as a finance major already it's not worth it.

Ski for a semester. It'll make you a more interesting candidate.
