UK Investment Banking Targets
I was going through wso and came across this list of UK target Universities for IB as ill be applying to uni this year I just wanna make sure that this list is accurate and help out the other monkeys looking to apply to uni as well.
Top Target: Oxford, Cambridge, LSE
Target: UCL, Warwick and Imperial
Top semi-target: Durham
Semi-target: Bristol, Nottingham, KCL, Edinburgh, Bath, Exeter and St Andrews
Prominent non-target: Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, York, Cass and Loughborough
If anyone could verify this it would be very helpful
There's no semi-target in the UK, at the undergrad level targets are
Oxbridge, LSE, Warwick, Imperial, UCL
And at the postgrad level targets are
LBS, LSE, Imperial
but ain't there gonna be more spots.. idk can just 6 universities fill up all the spots?
The remaining spots are for diversity applicants and women

Really dude? You gonna put Durham and Nottingham Trent in the same league?
Targets:
Oxbridge, LSE, Imperial, UCL
Semi-targets:
Warwick > Durham, Nottingham, Exeter, Bristol
If you’re not a diversity candidate, I’d very much try to get into one of the targets. Recruits from semi-targets are almost always diversity, with the exception of Warwick.
Doesn't Warwick come under target universities though?
I’d put Warwick somewhere in between target and semi-target. Wouldn’t say it’s got nearly the same reputation as for example Oxford or LSE
I would even say that Imperial and UCL are semi-targets concerning finance jobs. Their business schools are really recent and do not place as high as LSE or LBS (for graduate level). For STEM related degrees they are though.
LBS doesn't do bachelor's.... Imperial doesn't offer anything other than STEM at the undergrad level...
Imperial and UCL are targets for any course at undergrad. LSE places significantly more than any other university at the undergrad level anyway: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1n1vLYhVzGB_g7_eJKCebn21C8dy…
could someone clarify what the "BSB" column represents?
I agree I should have been more precise. LBS is a target for postgrad (as they only do that) while LSE I would say both (undergrad and postgraduate). UCL and Imperial are targets at undergrad level.
