UK/Scottish Business School Questions
So I'm an American thinking about attending University of Strathcldye for Finance and Business Law (undergrad). Is it worth it? I already have my degree, but it's in the liberal arts and I'm really trying to get into the finance field (M&A analyst or a trader for a bank). I already had internships and work experience, but just can't break it. So should take a risk a study there and try to work in Glasgow or apply for the Masters program? Also how good is the school compared to other UK business schools (I know it's not LSE)? How is the recruiting? Job placement? Nightlife? Are professors hard?
Big Thanks!!
No. Stay away from Strathclyde. It is utter crap, and not even in the top 5 in Scotland or the top 30 in the UK.
The only Scottish unis worth it for any manner of finance / banking are Edinburgh and St Andrews. Full stop. Aberdeen is decent for Scots Law and Glasgow uni has a couple okay programmes, but neither will get you into a trading or FO role.
What if I want to come back to the States after graduation? Will it still be worth it? Any others???
