Under 21 Chicago IB SA

I know that there have been a few discussions related to being under 21 as a SA, but I haven't found any of them to be that helpful for my situation. I'm a current junior who will be interning in Chicago this summer and will be 20 the entire time (late birthday). I'm not planning to drink at any firm sponsored events, but I am unsure what to do if my group wants to grab drinks after work. I have a pretty good fake, but I realize that downtown Chicago is a very difference scene compared to college bars/the suburbs. Should I mention my age to coworkers and still attempt to use my fake, in hopes of not being denied at the door? Or is it better off to not even bother and decline the invites, stating I am underage? I am a female, if that happens to increase my chances of getting into bars in the loop.

You'll be fine, they'll all know youre under and still want to go out. Just use it and see what happens. They'll understand if you don't get in

You say “hey sorry I’m not 21, I can’t join” and then that’s it. If it’s a happy hour you wont get carded at the door, so go with and just drink soda or whatever. If you get no-offered because you’re 20, it’s not a place you want to work anyways.

You really think pulling out a fake ID is going to be a good look in a professional setting? No, none of your superiors are going to be pleased when someone (inevitably) calls you on it.
