Undergrad: How Prestigious is UPenn M&T Dual Degree on Wall Street?
Hello, I was accepted to the University of Pennsylvania Jerome Fisher Management and Technology a little more than a week ago. I have committed to attending but have a few questions about the program's rep on the street.
How easy is it for a UPenn M&T student to break into private equity as an undergrad, especially with internships? I also plan on applying for diversity internships since I am URM - would this make it easier for me to get Wall Street jobs, especially with Wharton/M&T pedigree, near perfect SAT scores, and hopefully a high cumulative GPA at UPenn. I am also a Joseph Wharton Scholar so I am hoping to get >3.4 GPA in Wharton so that I can maintain my status as a Joseph Wharton Scholar.
I plan to apply for all the IB, consulting, and private equity internships that I can (especially ones targeted towards URMs since they are less competitive to get), but I also want to pursue my entrepreneurial venture at least one summer. How common is it for M&T students to get IB internships their freshman year summer? Finally, how to people on the street view M&T students/graduates? What is the stereotype of an M&T student?
Thanks,
