Undergraduate and Research.

Hello everyone.

I am a High School Junior, and have stumbled across investment banking. Only I'm having trouble finding much information on investment banking and getting into it. Is there any way to get into investment banking without going to a top undergraduate school? I have a very low 3.8 unweighted, I haven't taken the ACT yet, I have a few clubs and don't know what schools I should be looking at that are in my range that can give me internship opportunities in investment banking, if any.

What hope is there for students that don't get into a top undergraduate school? Any good websites about investment banking in general?

What are some good books, magazines and websites about investment banking? Even if I have no hope for getting into this field, I have chose investment banking as a topic for a school project and have to research it anyways. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for reading.

it depends how bad the undergrad is i think if you are top of your class and in the TOP 100 (US NEWS) or at-least in tier 1 university and top 30 LAC. with solid ec's and at-least one finance internship you should be good to go.

Take a good word from non-target. Try, try your best at getting into target or at least semi-target school... If you end up in non-target school, your Junior year will be very miserable (I truly hope you'll be luckier than I am).

P.S.: you are still a Junior, you have at least half a year to prepare for SATs. Buy a hell of a lot of books and STUDY YOUR ASS OFF. High SAT and mediocre GPA should get you into some semi-targets
